Before a year I got the chance to visit Kuri, Kalinchok, Ghyangdanda, Tutwan area of Dolakha while snowfall. It was in the winter season. It was a wonderful journey there. I was traveled with Puspender Shahi. At that time I shoot some photographs of that area. This year(2019) its also the time of winter. As per the information of some people, there was snowfall in that area. For my remembrance, I am posting these photographs on this site.
Dolakha is situated in the NorthEast part of Nepal in Province no. 3, this is also the east situated district of province no. 3. District headquarter is Charikot which is in 1900 m asl and 132 km far from capital city Kathmandu. Dolakha has huge diversity in landscape and biodiversity as well. It’s situated from 600 masl to 7134 masl. It divided into 9 local governments.
Kalinchok temple is a popular shrine of Dolakha, which is in 3700 masl. It is on the top of the hill. It is 19 km far from district headquarter Charikot to Kuri. To reach to Kalinchok temple cable car is available. We can reach there on foot also it took 45 min to 1 hour. Kuri is the basecamp of Kalinchok. This area is beautiful in the landscape. About all areas of the Dolakha district can be seen from there. 50+ hotels are there in Kuri, around 5 hotels are in Ghyangdanda. Kalinchok area lies in Gaurishankar Conservation area and to make travel more fun, to interact more with Dolakha’s beauty Gaurishankar Conservation Area Project exploring new trekking routes from Kalinchok to Bigu also.
