The new experience of hiking on a new trekking trail from Kalinchok to Thingsang has left me in awe. The Gaurishankar Conservation Area Project has proposed this new trekking route, which is a great option for those who love nature and want to be in the lap of it. A team, consisting of Pasang Sherpa, Prakash Magar, Krishna Bdr Pakhrin, Puspender Shahi, Dil Bahadur KC, and myself, was created for the initial monitoring of the trekking trail. We started our journey on the morning of the 4th of Mangsir from Charikot and reached Kuri at around 4:30 pm after taking a bolero. We met with Krishna Pakhrin, a resident of Kalinchok, and Dil Bahadur Kc, a journalist from Charikot. We spent the night at a hotel in Kuri that could accommodate up to 200 people and did a campfire to combat the cold weather. The next day, we started our journey toward Thingsang after having lunch at Ghyangdanda. While Puspender and Krishna Pakhrin had to leave the group due to illness, Pasang, Prakash, Dil Bahadur, and I continued the journey, reaching Kalinchok temple and then Thingsang. Although some places on the trail require maintenance, the view of the landscape and the 360-degree view of mountains and peaks made the journey worth it. It took us 6 hours to reach Thingsang, which is at an altitude of 3400m, from Kalinchok, which is at an altitude of 3700m. I have posted some of the photographs I captured during the journey and it was a wonderful experience overall.
